How to Improve Point Tracking Accuracy
If you notice that point tracking is not properly tracking and the point is not staying at the center of the screen, follow these steps:
Important Note About Frame Shift
- The red joystick labeled Frame Shift is not designed to fix point tracking issues.
- Do not use Frame Shift to correct inaccurate point tracking.
- Only use Frame Shift after the point is already tracking correctly, to reposition the tracked point on the screen.
Troubleshooting Point Tracking Accuracy
If the tracked point keeps drifting side to side while moving the camera, it means the tracking is not accurate enough.
Here’s how to properly troubleshoot:
1. Reset the Point
- Delete the current point.
- Teach the point again:
- Double press to delete the point.
- Aim carefully at the same point again and press once.
- From a different angle, aim at the same point and press once more.
✅ Tip: This often solves basic tracking issues.
2. Reset All Calibration Data
If resetting the point did not fix the problem:
- Go to Settings → Device Settings.
- Press Reset All Calibrations.
- All calibration data will be erased.
3. Recalibrate the Device
After resetting calibrations:
- Switch to Point Mode.
- Perform a new calibration:
- Align the head properly and confirm.
- Lock the body as instructed and confirm.
- Enter your body device measurements (if requested).
- Skip the anchor point stage if prompted.
4. Re-Teach the Point
- Aim at a clear point (e.g., button number five).
- Teach it again carefully:
- Once from one position.
- Once more from another position.
5. Test the Tracking
- Set two body positions.
- Activate the point and trigger the motion.
- Verify:
- The point (e.g., button number five) should now stay at the center of the screen.
Conclusion
If you follow the steps correctly, you should be able to fix point tracking problems effectively.
This method ensures accurate and stable point tracking during your camera motions.
