Calibration Path Accuracy of DollyPLUS v2

DollyPLUS v2 offers three types of calibrations, but to improve Path Accuracy, you need to perform the third calibration option listed in the menu.

Here’s how to complete a successful Path calibration:

How to Perform Path Calibration on DollyPLUS v2

  1. Prepare the Paper:

    • Take a sheet of paper and mark a plus sign (+) on it.
  2. Position the Paper:

    • Place the paper under DollyPLUS.
    • Align the vertical line of the plus sign with a fixed point on the Dolly (e.g., the gap between the “L” and “K” letters).
  3. Start Calibration:

    • Press Start.
    • DollyPLUS will move 2 meters back and forth.
  4. Adjust the Paper:

    • After the movement, check if the plus sign is still aligned.
    • If it shifted:

      • Move the paper right or left to realign it.
      • Press the corresponding direction (Right or Left) on the screen.
  5. Repeat if Necessary:

    • Continue small adjustments.
    • Each round should get you closer to perfect alignment.
    • Typically, calibration is completed within 3 to 8 tries.
  6. Save the Calibration:

    • Once the paper remains correctly aligned after movement, press Save.

Important Notes

  • Be very precise with your adjustments; even slight misalignments can affect tracking accuracy.
  • While other calibration options exist for DollyPLUS, they are usually unnecessary unless you require even higher position accuracy.
  • A separate video tutorial covers these additional calibration methods.
